First Full Day in Bogliasco

The morning came with more sun and blue sky.  We forgot to move the motorized shade over the skylight, so light came a bit early!  We moved through our morning routines and headed down for breakfast around 8:30.  (breakfast is served from 7:45 until 9:00, so we were on the tail end.......and a few folks had come and gone).  It was certainly nice enough to eat outside on the dining terrace, with our new friends David and Val from Claremont, California by way of England......very peaceful and a nice way to start the day.

After a bit of an 'after breakfast' rest and some more unpacking, we decided to head out for town.  The town center of Bogliasco is just down the road less than a 10 minute walk.  There is an older, historic core in an elevated position over the water, and a newer part that is centered on the small harbor and beach area.  Our first stop was Bar Centro for a cappucino (decaff haha).  This is one of our favorite stops!

Back at the ranch, we had another pleasant meal (lunch) out on the terrace.  Afterwards, Ivana offered to show us the new garden that had been recently rebuilt on a remote piece of the property, actually on the embankment above the railroad tacks.  It is accessible directly from a gate at the front entrance to the villa.  It apparently has been Gianni Biaggi's pet project.  Gianni is the family patriarch......now around 90.  We have met him several times before.  He is quite a character, and a self-taught landscape architect!  It is rather incredible what has grown in the last 1 1/2 years.

Then back to the room for un reposo!

Before you know it........it's 7:00 again......time for aperitivi! and on to dinner
