Not wanting to run out of gas at the end of our stay, we continued at a slow pace today. We awoke to sunny skies.........but with a forecast of possible showers midday.
We had a wonderfully lazy morning, broken up by a walk in the gardens and an exciting date with the washer and dryer! The washer is fine, but the dryer is stubborn. We still have things drying on a rack in our room.
Lunch was on the terrace, starting out with clear skies but a bit of a breeze. On schedule with the forecast, within 20 minutes we had a gentle 'cloudburst' but fortunately the awning was extended and we could continue eating with no interruption. It was actually nice listening to the rain. The episode, however, put us in the mood for a nap! and off we went!
Around 4:00 we decided to embark on an adventure to Basko, the local supermarket. Haha, what an exciting outing! The skies had cleared and the sun was out. After we completed our shopping list we decided to drive up to San Barnardo. While this tiny town is only a couple of miles away, it is on the side of a mountain, and the drive is a bit of a challenge on roads where two cars typically cannot pass each other. We made it without any incidents! The reason to go there is to enjoy the view.......quite spectacular.

On to the Evening!
Lively cocktail hour, turkey for dinner, almond gelato........and some 'self-entertaining' dopo cena! This was a little bit awkward, but several of the gang wanted to have a sing along. This was led by Francesco on the piano (totally amazing) with an overview of modern Italian songs from the region with a focus on Genova. That was embarrassingly quiet as no one knew the words! I have a video below. Then a few others joined and we shifted to the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and the Eagles. Things picked up here.......but only one video to show as we were using our phones to access the lyrics! Anyway, a fun and unusual evening!
