Giovedi and an adventure

Last night was a bit tiring for everyone.  We did not get settled in bed until well after midnight.  This was clearly not part of our Ligurian routine!  We slept well and tried to make it down for breakfast by 8:45.  Everyone was a bit late today.....but the view never disappoints!  Breakfast becomes very special here.

It also becomes hard to leave the room -

We did, however, plan an excursion for today.  We really wanted to take a trip back to the small hamlet of Framura.  We had a great experience back in 2019 discovering this incredible 'jewel' on the sea north of Cinque Terre and.......after some thought (always worrying the the 'revisit' would not match expectations) we decided to give it a try.  It is slightly more than an hours drive from Bogliasco, so we headed out around 10:45, wanting to be sure to get there with plenty of time for lunch.  For those of you who followed the 2019 blog, you will see this adventure to the restaurant called L'Agave.  If not, it will appear below!

On the way out each day, we have to open the Villa gates.  Here is a quick video where Andrea shows how it is done!

After leaving, we realized we needed to stop fairly soon for gas.  We found a station nearby in Pieve Ligure........where two women were running the show.........very friendly and helpful.  It is unusual to find a station which is not self-service!

All views from the restaurant.......truly spectacular!

The waiter assured us that the polpo (octopus) that I ordered was caught this morning right off these rocks!

and after such a great meal, nothing better than a brisk swim!

Then back to Villa dei Pini........where I had to jump on a couple of ZOOM calls.......such an adjustment from our lunch adventure.  Also, tonight we had a special meal.......and I will offer that some folks liked this, while others did not partake......such as Andrea.  The meal was coniglia (rabbit) roasted in the oven.  It was nice that we had a large lunch!

Our friends Stephanie and Rick are not actually this weird........but we liked the picture!
